Güvenç Akbil

In 1995, Güvenç Akbil graduated from the Electrical Engineering department of Istanbul Technical University. He completed his master’s degree at the same university in 2000.

Starting his career in 1996 as an Information Technology Systems Analyst at Pamukbank, Akbil gained experience in various positions and fields related to information technology in the finance sector. In 2003, he joined Akbank’s Information Technology team and played a role in establishing the Project Management unit within Akbank’s IT division, eventually assuming the role of IT Project Management Unit Manager.

In 2016, Akbil assumed the role of Director in the Information Technology organization at BKM (Interbank Card Center of Turkey), where he led efforts to establish an on-site R&D center for the organization. In addition to his role as IT Director, he was appointed as R&D Director for the same company in 2018. From 2021 to 2023, he served as Payment Systems Transformation Group Coordinator at PayCore for two years. Before joining GTech, he most recently held the position of Chief Information Officer at Nurol Investment Bank.

In May 2024, Güvenç Akbil joined GTech as the Deputy General Manager, Project Management Center of Excellence, bringing his deep industry experience to lead end-to-end Project Management Office activities.
